HISTORY

Lightning in a Bottle, organized by the Do Lab, a Southern California-based creative collective, started out as a private birthday celebration in the Santa Ynez Mountains south of Santa Barbara in 2000 and has now developed into a public event.

The experience of Lightning in a Bottle is unlike any other music festival. It is a magical place full of adventures where there are opportunities for fun, wonder, and connection around every corner. The friendships created at this wild party with both old and new friends will last a lifetime. Everything at LIB is designed to push the boundaries of reality and what is possible, from the iconic stages showcasing up-and-coming musicians alongside internationally renowned headliners to the roster of learning experiences asking you to move outside of your comfort zone.

MUSIC AND PERFORMANCE

LIB takes pleasure in giving music enthusiasts a multi-genre experience where they can find a new favorite musician and experience the mystic power of music. Whether you prefer techno, bass, house, hip hop, pop, folk, or Americana, you can find it on one of the seven stages, which will host a stellar lineup of both headliners and breakout artists.

YOGA & MOVEMENT

Put your body in motion and express yourself! Yoga and movement sessions at LIB are offered in a wide range of styles and skill levels by some of the greatest instructors in the area. You’re sure to leave feeling excellent in your mind, body, and soul, whether it be through conventional methods or completely novel and entertaining ones.

COMMUNITY

Lightning in a Bottle is a celebration of community. A community of artists, vendors, performers, musicians, instructors, thought leaders, children and families, and volunteers travel from all over the world to provide a space for connection, exploration, and discovery. Additionally, it is a gathering place for both old and new members of our LIB family, where you can make new friends, spend time with old ones, and, most importantly, have the time of your life!
